Five more business initiatives announced at The Future Workforce Summit 2025

Five new business initiatives to help families with babies and young children, were announced early today, at a summit hosted by The Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood.

The Future Workforce Summit 2025, which took place at Salesforce Tower in London, is an important milestone in The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood’s work with business, signalling a major uplift in reach and scale.

Delegates also heard from leaders of Business Taskforce members Aviva, NatWest Group, Iceland, Ikea UK and Ireland, the LEGO Group and Deloitte about the work their organisations have already delivered as part of the Taskforce which has reached more than half a million babies and young children to date.

And five new initiatives were also announced, from Salesforce, Kellogg’s, Amazon, Co-op and Jude’s Ice-cream.

The Centre for Early Childhood will be working closely with these organisations to understand more about the impact of each initiative, the potential for them to be scaled up in future, and to identify any lessons which can be shared with others considering their own projects in this area.

  • Salesforce will work with the Centre for Early Childhood and its partners to explore and understand the needs of small nurseries in adopting and benefiting from technology innovation. Using our joint findings as a guide, Salesforce is committed to developing and distributing tools and education to support the needs of this vital sector.
  • Kellogg’s is expanding its Breakfast Club programme to Early Years settings for the first time, inspired by work with The Royal Foundation. From 2026, nurseries can apply for a £1,000 Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Grant as part of a £1 million national commitment.  Kellogg’s have also piloted Money Matters, providing financial advice to families within Early Years settings.
  • Amazon is partnering with The Royal Foundation and Faith in Families Swansea to create 1,000 ‘Cwtch Kits’ for babies and young children this winter, containing a blanket, books, and sensory toys to help families to share stories and moments of connection which we know make a huge difference to early development. This builds on Amazon’s multibank initiative, which redistributes surplus goods to families in need across the UK.
  • Co-op is partnering with The Royal Foundation on a 2026 campaign celebrating the importance of pausing and connecting with young children. Co-op members will share stories and advice to inspire simple, playful everyday moments that help children grow and thrive. Using its platform, stores across the country and 6 million members, they will embed play and connection at the heart of community life.
  • Jude’s Ice Cream is supporting Home for Good and Safe Families, charities helping children in care and families in need. Donating 5p from every Strawberries & Cream tub sold in 2026, to fund fostering and adoption support.  Jude’s will use their brand and community events to celebrate the early years workforce.
